The Caravan system in ARC Raiders changes the way players should think about their stash. Instead of viewing every piece of junk, mechanical component, or Coin as something that only helps the current Raider, experienced players can consider how those resources contribute toward an Expedition. This becomes especially relevant when you already have valuable ARC Raiders BluePrints and a comfortable stockpile of materials.
Players with several ARC Raiders BluePrints often reach a point where storage becomes crowded with resources they are not using immediately. The Caravan provides a reason to evaluate that collection. You can turn suitable surplus into Expedition progress, eventually trading the current Raider's progression for permanent improvements that benefit future characters.
Reaching the Caravan Stage
The Expedition Project unlocks when your Raider reaches Level 20. From there, the Caravan is constructed through multiple stages, and each stage has different material requirements.
The construction process can consume a mixture of junk, ARC parts, and mechanical resources. Because requirements change between stages, keeping some flexibility in your stash is helpful. Spending everything as soon as the project becomes available may leave you short on resources for normal gameplay.
Once construction is completed, the Caravan must be stocked. This loading phase involves provisions, materials, and gear, so players should check their remaining supplies before committing to the final stage.
There is another small but important detail: completion is not the same as departure registration. When the designated departure window opens, you still need to manually sign up. The game does not simply send your Raider away because the Caravan has been finished.
Measuring the Value of Your Resources
The Caravan system has previously used total stash value as an important part of Expedition rewards. In its earlier form, every 1 million Coins of value could generate one bonus SBlockedword/sentence Point, with the bonus capped at five points.
Later updates changed the way some of these benefits were delivered, including localized Damage Challenges during the departure period. Even with those changes, stash value remains an important part of understanding whether an Expedition is worthwhile.
A useful approach is to separate your resources into three groups. The first contains materials you regularly need for crafting and upgrades. The second contains valuable items you might use later. The third consists of genuine surplus that has been sitting around without a clear purpose.
The third group is where Caravan preparation becomes most attractive.
The Cost of Starting Again
The reset is not cosmetic. When your Caravan departs, your current Raider is permanently retired.
Character level and SBlockedword/sentence Tree progress are lost. Your inventory, Coins, and Blueprints are also removed, while Base Stash upgrades and Workbench levels need to be rebuilt.
That is a significant sacrifice, particularly for players who have invested a lot of time into one Raider. If you still have important progression goals to complete, there is no need to rush simply because the Caravan is available.
The system is designed around a trade-off. You give up the strength of your current character so that your account can become stronger over repeated Expeditions.
Permanent Advantages for Future Raiders
The rewards explain why some experienced players consider the reset worthwhile.
Every successful Expedition adds 12 permanent stash slots. After five successful Expeditions, that can reach 60 additional slots. For players who regularly collect materials and equipment, this additional space can make future inventory management much easier.
Unlocked maps and certain fast-track Workshop stations can also remain available, reducing the amount of early progression required on a new Raider.
There are additional account bonuses as well. Repeated successful departures can eventually provide up to 15% more XP, an 18% Scrappy materials bonus, and a 30% increase in weapon repair value.
These bonuses are particularly useful because they are not tied to one Raider. A new character can benefit from improvements earned through previous Expeditions.
Preparing for the System Pause
The Fifth Expedition is scheduled for September 8–29, 2026, and it is expected to be the final Expedition before the current system is paused for a larger overhaul.
This creates an unusual situation for players who are currently halfway through a Caravan. Embark Studios has confirmed that partially completed Caravans will be converted into Ermal Vouchers when the system resets.
The vouchers are designed to preserve the value of existing progress. Players can exchange them for ARC Parts or firearms, or sell them for Coins. Because of this conversion, partially completed Caravan progress does not necessarily need to be abandoned simply because the system is changing.
Balancing Immediate and Future Progress
If your current Raider still needs resources for important upgrades, keeping those materials may be the better choice. If your stash is already full of things you rarely use, however, putting some of that surplus toward the Caravan can make more sense.
For players who do not want to sacrifice their current stockpile, ARC Raiders Items for sale can be another option when preparing for future progression. The key is to understand what you are giving up before committing to the reset.
